Presentation and Editorial Policies
Founded in 2009, Revista ESASP - Revista Científica Virtual da Escola Superior de Advocacia da OAB/SP is an interdisciplinary Diamond Open Access journal dedicated to disseminating original research in Law and Applied Social Sciences intersecting with legal phenomena. We operate under a continuous publication model, ensuring velocity, transparency, and broad visibility for scientific output.
Editorial Policies
-
Open Access and Open Science Policy: Aligned with the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI), the journal offers public, free, and immediate access to all its content without financial or technological barriers. The journal provides open metadata through the interoperable OAI-PMH protocol.
-
Responsible Research Assessment and DORA Commitment: Revista ESASP is a signatory of the San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA). We commit to evaluating submitted manuscripts exclusively on their intrinsic scientific merit, originality, methodological rigor, and real socio-legal impact, categorically rejecting journal-based metrics (such as Impact Factor) as surrogate measures for assessing individual article quality. We promote article-level metrics (open access views and downloads) and transparency in authorship contributions.
-
Management and Peer Review Criteria: The entire editorial process—submission, evaluation, and publication—is strictly free of charge. Approved articles are published according to exogeny criteria and chronological order of acceptance, except for invited authors or contributions to Special Issues. Initial editorial screening (desk review) assesses scope alignment, methodological consistency, and novelty. Manuscripts passing initial screening undergo rigorous Double-Blind Peer Review, ensuring impartiality and fairness. The journal adheres to the transparency and best practice guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), actively preventing plagiarism and scientific misconduct.
-
Academic Responsibility and Institutional Affiliation: The content and accuracy of published articles are the sole responsibility of the authors. Opinions and conclusions expressed do not necessarily reflect the institutional position of the journal's publisher, the Escola Superior de Advocacia da Ordem dos Advogados do Brasil – Seção São Paulo (ESA OAB SP) [ROR ID: https://ror.org/01pyqzs80].
-
Intellectual Property and Licensing Policy: Authors retain the copyright to their work. All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license, allowing sharing, copying, distribution, and adaptation in any medium, provided proper credit is given to the original authors and publication source.
-
Digital Preservation and Accessibility: The journal's collection is digitally preserved by IBICT's Cariniana Network (built on the LOCKSS ecosystem), ensuring long-term custody and perpetual access. We implement strict digital accessibility standards, requiring descriptive Alternative Text (Alt Text) for all images, charts, and tables. Authors are encouraged to deposit the published version (final PDF) in institutional or thematic repositories.
-
Privacy and Data Protection: Names, email addresses, and institutional affiliations provided to the OJS platform are used exclusively for editorial purposes and will not be shared with third parties or used for other ends.
-
Costs and Fees (Zero APCs): This journal charges no submission, processing (Article Processing Charges - APCs), peer review, or publication fees. The complete editorial workflow is fully subsidized and free of charge (Diamond Model).
