    Abstract

    The article presents a scientific and humanized look at the communication dilemmas between people undergoing treatment for serious diseases and their caregivers. Through the analysis of statistical data and Law, the author proposes compassionate communication as an essential tool to welcome human suffering and seek new ways for patients to find peace in moments of terminality.

      Physician graduated from USP; Specialist in Geriatrics and Gerontology from HCFMUSP; Postgraduate in Psychology – Bereavement Interventions from the Instituto 4 Estações de Psicologia; Specialization in Palliative Care from the Pallium Institute and the University of Oxford.
