O artigo apresenta um olhar científico e humanizado sobre os dilemas da comunicação entre pessoas em tratamento de doenças graves e seus cuidadores. Através da análise de dados estatísticos e do Direito, a autora propõe a comunicação compassiva como ferramenta essencial para acolher o sofrimento humano e buscar novos caminhos para que os pacientes encontrem paz em momentos de terminalidade.
