This article analyzes the STF judgment of ADI 7,021, which upheld the constitutionality of Law No. 14,208/2021 establishing party federations. The debate focused on distinguishing federations from party coalitions and the deadline for registration with the Electoral Court. The STF ruled that federations must adhere to the same six-month registration deadline as political parties to ensure competitive equality.
