          Abstract

          The article discusses Edward Snowden and his indirect connection to the creation of the General Data Protection Law (LGPD) in Brazil and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in the European Union, highlighting the global impact of revelations about mass surveillance on digital privacy.
